Lesson information
With so many driving schools to choose from, why choose us?

This page will supply you with all of the facts you need to identify us as one of the leading providers of driver training in Fife.
Our current tuition vehicle is the Ford Fiesta 1.25 Style.
The Ford Fiesta is widely considered to be one of the best tuition vehicles available. Good all round visibility, easy to drive and roomy enough inside to accommodate most pupils with ease...
When you take lessons with us, you can be sure that you are getting first class tuition from a fully qualified instructor, and not a trainee. Most multi-car schools provide a proportion of their tuition through trainee instructors, but don't charge any less for these lessons. They don't even need to tell you that your instructor isn't fully qualified. Although this is entirely legal, you should try to ensure that your instructor is fully qualified, in order to gain the most from your lessons. You can tell if your instructor is fully qualified (or not) by the colour of the badge that they need to display on the windscreen of the car.
Average Pass Rates
Trainee Driving Instructors will have an orange badge, while Fully Qualified Instructors will have a green badge.
Our pass rate is amongst the highest in the country for 1st time passes.
Fully Qualified Instructor ?
When taking lessons, what exactly are you paying for ?
Money spent on good quality driving tuition is money well spent, but have you ever considered what it is that you are actually paying for?
Independent,  single car driving schools, such as myself, tend to charge what is generally considered to be the 'Going rate', in other words, what everyone else is charging. Larger driving schools tend to have a large influence over this 'Going rate'.
However, these larger companies invariably have higher overheads, due to factors such as leasing of premises, expensive advertising campaigns, and of course, providing their company with a profit once their instructors have taken their cut of the lesson fee.
There is also the current trend of using training vehicles that are generally considered by the public to be 'cool' or 'fashionable', but unfortunately for the pupil, these vehicles tend to be more expensive, and this extra expense needs to be recovered, more often than not, by incorporating it into the lesson rate that they charge.
When you take lessons with Alans' Driver Training, we can offer you lower lesson fees than average, because we carefully choose 'Nearly New' training vehicles with very low mileage and full service history, These vehicles are meticulously maintained throughout there working life, and provide a safe, comfortable and reliable environment in which to learn to drive.
